Two sessions were held on Thursday in Washington, DC, as part of Qatar's ongoing economic tour of the US.
These were attended by HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani, chairman of the Qatari Businessmen Association, and a number of Qatari businessmen and their counterparts from the American business community. 
The participants discussed the investment opportunities available in the two friendly countries and the possibility of forging partnerships between businessmen from both sides, as well as co-operation between law firms.
The first session discussed opportunities for co-operation in the investment sector between the two countries, prioritising attractive investment opportunities, and the possibility of establishing partnerships between businessmen in both the countries. 
The US has been briefed on Qatar's investment-friendly economic environment as well as the state-of-the-art infrastructure and the Qatar Financial Centre's services for businesses and individuals. 
The US businessmen were invited to visit Doha to learn more about the investment opportunities available in the country. 
On their part, the American businessmen said they have multiple investment portfolios in the US and are open to Qatari investments. Noting that they have Qatari partners, they expressed a desire to engage in more partnerships with Qatari investors.
In the second session, the American side was introduced to the national investment laws and regulations. The session focused on attracting more US investments to Qatar and discussed legislative developments in the country as well as ways of co-operation in the field of law and legal services.
