The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), in co-ordination with the government entities and institutions concerned, has said it has taken the necessary precautions regarding scabies and closely follows up on status of the disease at the regional level.
In a notice on Twitter, the ministry said scabies is detected and reported through the communicable disease surveillance and monitoring systems. Besides, the MoPH applies the early detection mechanisms for any suspected case and monitors all related reports through the registering of any disease that pose public health risks .
The MoPH has stressed that it provides the necessary tools for the diagnosis and early detection of the disease, in addition to necessary treatment at all its health centres.

‘Bottled water compliant with WHO standards’
The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has clarified that bottled drinking water in the country is compliant with the approved World Health Organisation (WHO) and GCC standards.
In a notice on Twitter, the MoPH said a message circulating on social media on the “best drinking water” in Qatar contains misleading information. The ministry said sodium concentration in drinking water has no health consequences, according to the WHO. Besides, the WHO stipulates that the pH degree should be 7-8.5, which is considered safe and has no health consequences.
