Nuwakot Welfare Society (NWS), a Nepali community organisation, recently welcomed Nepali New Year (2075 BS) with a musical programme at Gulf Paradise Hotel. Professor  Ramesh Prasad Koirala, Nepali ambassador to Qatar, attended the show as the chief guest. 
The New Year programme aimed at raising funds for needy elderly people and handicapped children. The programme saw the performances of Smriti Gautam, Madan Thapa, Rupak Dotel, Man Maya and the other singers.
The 12 member UNI dance crew started the programme. The UNI troupe, led by Yubaraj Oli, performed a patriotic dance. Oli said that they rehearsed the dance every Friday before the performance.
Pramita and Sujata performed  their dance on a Nepali movie soundtrack. Kiran Gautam, a singer, presented a folk song. He said that he was more than happy to support elderly people and the children with disabilities through the programme.
Ramji Thapa Magar, a singer, enthralled the audience and made them sing with him. Sangam Tamang, a dancer, performed an impressionist solo dance. Salma Tamang, a dancer, performed on a comic movie song. Dinesh Limbu, a singer, presented two of his composed numbers. Mani Krishna Lopcha, a singer, performed one of his popular songs.
Rupak Dotel sang five songs. Dotel presented the songs as per the choice of the audience. Dotel appreciated Nepali expatriates’ love and respect for the artistes.
 Six songs by Madan Thapa carried different social messages for the gathering.Man Maya presented four songs. She requested the audience to do more good work for the disadvantaged elderly people.
