Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Tawar al-Kuwari said that Qatar is moving forward in terms of making work and life in the country the best in the region at all levels, while continuing co-operation and co-ordination with the international organisations concerned for the safety, health and welfare of workers.

In a speech at the second conference on occupational safety and health, al-Kuwari stressed that the concern of the chamber which includes 10,000 members representing 50,000 companies was the welfare of workers and ensuring their safety and health in the workplace.
He said that the Chamber co-operated with the official bodies to develop legislation and laws that contributed to improving living standards and safety of workers and encouraging the private sector to raise the level of occupational safety and health requirements by selecting the best companies. 
The vice-chairman of Qatar Chamber said that the Occupational Safety and Health Awards were launched in the first edition under the patronage of the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs. He pointed out that the awards provide distinguished companies in the field of occupational safety and health awareness and in the field of awareness-raising among workers and other fields.
