In a strategic deal that is aimed at delivering “high-quality online shopping experience” to the country’s residents, Doha Bank has tied up with the General Postal Corporation (Q-Post) through the bank’s e-commerce portal Doha Sooq.
The officials of both the organisations felt the agreement would ensure “a speedy and safe delivery of the merchandise to customers”.
“Customers can now enjoy the experience of purchasing their favourite items online from the convenience of their homes and on top receiving their merchandise swiftly through the most reliable postal service in Qatar,” Doha Bank said .
“The e-mall which is owned and operated by Doha Bank, has become a landmark for all the savvy shoppers who want to get the best deals from a selection of the finest and most reliable merchants in town, whose list entails iSpot, CGC Nokia, Mannai Corporation, Blue Salon and Jumbo Electronics etc.”
The online portal hosts a collection of products that range from electronics, computers, mobile phones and accessories to fashion, jewellery, flowers, gifts and souvenirs etc.
At the agreement signing ceremony, Doha Bank Group CEO R Seetharaman said: “We are glad to sign an agreement with Q-Post which marks indeed the value added benefits that Doha Bank generally brings about to customers and equally to our merchants.”
He said: “In parallel to offering merchants a great window for their products display, Doha Sooq, in collaboration with Q-Post, provides now a perfect setup for merchants to deliver their merchandise to customers without owning their own delivery department, which certainly makes it expedient for many merchants who are looking forward to join Doha Sooq.”
Acting manager at the General Postal Corporation Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Mohamed al-Thani said: “The tie-up would facilitate faster delivery and transport of the postal items to Doha Bank’s clients in Qatar.”
He called the agreement “one of the many similar agreements in which both GPC and Doha Bank are partners”.
Sheikh Abdulaziz said: “The agreement reflects the co-operation between Q-Post and Doha Bank in the developments of the postal services which are indispensable in all countries across the world. I am looking forward to both General Postal Corporation Q-Post and Doha bank.”
