The QatarDebate delegation announcing the participation in the the World School Debating Championship in South Africa

QatarDebate students and officials are preparing to visit South Africa later this month to participate against some 40 other countries in the World School Debating Championships.
The tournament will take place in Cape Town from January 17-27, and will see Qatari students Saad al-Suwaidi, Hassan al-Mulla, Abdulla al-Emadi, Noora al-Naemi and Haya al-Thani take on students from Greece, Swaziland, Kuwait, Slovenia, Estonia, China, the Netherlands and Thailand in the first round of debates.
The team will be accompanied by the head of the English programme at QatarDebate, Kelley Bieringer, as well as Jamal al-Baker, Nissar Muktar, Hassan Suleiman and
Annie England Kerr.
Bieringer said: “This year’s team members are very positive and have shown phenomenal improvement during the course of training. In addition to the trainers at the centre we have also got a trainer from Slovenia who has been concentrating on different aspects of the students’ abilities and presentation skills.”
