Ideal Indian School has felicitated its young athlete Nada Nabeel who represented Qatar in the recent Arab Games and won a bronze medal in the 4x100m team relay.
A cash award was handed over to the class XI student by principal Prof Mohamed Aejaz.
Nada, whom the school described as the youngest athlete in the Qatar team, had earlier taken part in the First GCC Women’s Sports tournament held in Kuwait in 2008 and brought the first gold medal to Qatar.
She also took part in the Arab Youth Games held in Jordan, Syria and Egypt and GCC athletic meets and was ranked seventh in the Asian Youth Games held at Singapore in 2009.
Now, Nada is preparing to take part in the Inter-Club Sports meet to be held in Abu Dhabi and the fourth GCC sports meet in Oman.
The young athlete, who attributed her victory to the country’s leaders, her coaches, parents, teachers and friends, will also be representing Qatar in the London Olympics coming up this year, the school added.
