The 2012 Qatar Motor Show, starting at the Doha Exhibitions Centre on January 23, will feature several attractions including trial bikes and stunt rides besides FMX, drifting shows and test drives.
The show is held under the patronage of Prime Minister and Foreign Minister HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani and is organised by the Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) in partnership with q-media Events and GL events.
The public viewing will be between January 25 and 28.
The organisers said yesterday that the staging of the event for the second year speaks of the enormous interest the country’s vehicle buffs have in familiarising themselves with the latest entrants in the industry.
Among the new attractions is a showcase of motor bikes, and a selection of classic cars at the sprawling exhibition centre, the latter in partnership with Al Fardan Classic cars at a dedicated facility, according to the organisers.
Head of exhibitions at QTA, Lahdan Ghanim al-Mohannadi, said more than 70 exhibitors would showcase their automobiles, bikes and accessories.
Al-Mohannadi promised this year’s show would be more interactive with more outdoor events giving greater chances for the visitors to participate.
The diamond sponsors of this year’s show is Qatar Shell which will make the event more colourful and interesting, ensuring the participation and display along Corniche by Scuderia Ferrari Formula One test driver Marc Gene.
