cetaa-Q members at farewell
College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram alumni association Qatar Chapter (Cetaa-Q), hosted a farewell party in honour of one of its founder members, K Sivadasan, and his wife Saraswati at the Indian Club. The couple is leaving Qatar after more than two decades here.
Sivadasan was a founding member of the Indian Club and headed the club at one time. He is currently the president of the Engineers Forum that brings together engineering professionals from Kerala in Qatar.
Sivadasan has been with the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corp (Kahramaa) since its inception in 2001 and had served the electricity and water department before that for more than a decade.
Indian Cultural Club (ICC) president K M Varghese and Galfar Al Misnad Engineering & Contracting CEO Satish G Pillai, both alumni of the College of Engineering recalled the efforts of Sivadasan in keeping the engineers fraternity together.
Cetaa-Q chairman Sivakumar and other members said Sivadasan contributed to strengthening the alumni forum.
Senior alumni members Somasekharan Nair, Samuel Simon, Raghu Kumar and Saji K John shared their experiences with Sivadasan.
Forum members Dinesh, Sunil, Shaji, Lekha, Pradeep, Mathew, Pratheesh Ben, Ruksana, Krishnamoorthy, Anees and Dhanraj also spoke.
KM Varghese later draped Sivadasan in a ‘ponnada’ in honour of his contributions to the engineers fraternity.
A plaque depicting Sivadasan’s long association with Cetaa-Q was presented to him by Oommen K Sam. The alumni general secretary Sooraj Anas welcomed the gathering. Executive member Anil K Jacob proposed a vote of thanks.
