Some participants cut a commemoration cake during the event
Students from different majors and study years have competed as teams in solving business cases and presenting solutions during the Fourth Annual Internal Case Competition, which recently concluded at Stenden University – Qatar.
Ten teams comprising three or four students each, competed in a round-robin format to gain a place in the final.
They analysed a business case and presented their ideas and solutions to a panel of judges chosen from among the management and academic staff of the university.
‘Athena Consultancy’ and ‘Inspire Consultants’ topped their divisions and competed for first and second place.
In the final, Athena Consultancy demonstrated stronger skills in analysis, critical thinking and presentation which brought them to the lead and hence winning the competition.
During the closing ceremony, Stenden University-Qatar president Wayne Johnson thanked all the members of the organising committee and the students for their participation.
Athena Consultancy’s members Abdulla al-Ghanim, Saima Bukhari, Sajid M Ettol and Samantha Serrao and all members of Inspire Consultants Abdullah al-Ammari, Maliha Sadaqat, Nihal Nalakath and Zakaria Jweihan received certificates and prizes for their outstanding performance.
The Internal Case competition is a major stepping stone for Stenden’s preparations for other international case competitions and the winning team ‘Athena Consultancy’ will represent the university at such events.
Stenden University-Qatar are the defending champions at this year’s case competition organised by the College of the North Atlantic as their teams previously won the competition in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
