Qatar and the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste signed several agreements here yesterday following official talks co-chaired by HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani and Timor’s Prime Minister and Minister of Defence and Security Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao. 
During the meeting they discussed ways of strengthening bilateral relations in various fields.
The talks were attended by a number of ministers and members of the official delegation accompanying the Timor-Leste’s prime minister.
Later the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister  and the prime minister of Timor witnessed the signing of a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding.

The agreements dealt with the encouragement and protection of investments, and economic, trade and technical co-operation between the two countries.
The memorandums of understanding signed between the two sides covered strategic co-operation between Timor and  Qatar Petroleum International, the Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology in Qatar, Qatar Tourism Authority on tourism co-operation and Qatar Holding on co-operation in investment.
The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister  hosted a luncheon in honour of  Timor’s prime minister.
