Islamic scholars have called upon Muslims to love Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) more than anything, be it their parents, relatives or material things, and implement his teachings in their lives and be model for others.
This came in a lecture entitled ‘The message of Prophet Muhammad’s Seerat and our responsibilities’.
Organised by Indian Friends’ Circle – Qatar last Friday, the lecture was attended by more than 3,000 Urdu-speaking Muslims who participated in the concluding session of a two-week Seerat campaign.
Dr Ali Mohiuddin Qurra Daaghi, assistant director of International Union for Muslim Scholars and head of Jurisprudence and Islamic Study Department at Qatar University, urged Muslims to follow in the footsteps of the Prophet and spread his teachings.
The guest speaker from India, Dr Jaweed Mukarram, recalled the various aspects of the Prophet’s life covering his total submission to Allah, simplicity in life, kindness, forgiveness, love and affection.
His exemplary life should be studied and every Muslim should adopt these qualities and contribute the best of his life for the benefit of mankind, Dr Mukarram said.
Dr Ali Idrees Mohamed, supervisor of Fanar’s Muslim communication unit, also spoke.
Prizes were distributed to the winners of an elocution competition held as part of the Seerat campaign.
