The ministerial and technical committees, to be formed in line with the two draft decisions, will perform a number of key functions.
The first draft decision provides for the formation of the ministerial committee, chaired by HE the minister of economy and commerce and with the membership of the ministers of finance, transport and communications, and municipality and environment, the official Qatar News Agency reported.
The ministerial committee will perform several functions, including the identification of areas and projects for the participation of government and private sectors in economic development projects, development of policies, standards, controls and programmes needed to stimulate the private sector’s participation in economic development projects and follow up on their implementation, and development of necessary solutions to overcome the difficulties and obstacles to implementation, the report said.
Under the provisions of the second draft decision, a technical committee to stimulate private sector participation in economic development projects will be formed at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC).
The committee will follow the ministerial group (to stimulate private sector participation in economic development projects) under the chairmanship of a representative from the MEC and with the membership of officials from the authorities concerned.
The committee will specialise in a number of areas, including the proposal of fields and projects for the participation of government and private sectors in economic development projects, and suggesting ways to support and stimulate the private sector to participate in such projects, according to the report.
After the regular Cabinet weekly meeting chaired by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani at the Emiri Diwan yesterday, HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Mahmoud said it was also decided to approve a draft decision of the minister of education and higher education on the implementation of some provisions of Law No 18 of 2015 regulating the practice of educational services.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has come up with the draft law in preparation for its issuance for the implementation of some provisions of Law No 18 of 2015.
The draft decision seeks to specify the different areas of educational services in addition to those provided for in Article 1 of the law.
These are as follows: tutoring for government and private curricula, educational training on values aimed at self and social development, mental mathematics and training in modern methods of calculations, visual arts for training in painting, sculpture, photography and decoration works, education and training for people with disabilities on school curricula and some of the skills that are commensurate with a particular type of disability.
