His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met on Friday with Ranking Member on the House Foreign Affairs Committee Eliot Engel, Ranking Democrat on the Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee Ted Deutch, member of House Foreign Affairs Committee Ted Lieu, member of the House Armed Services Committee Marc Veasey and member of Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission and House Committee on Energy and Commerce Tony Cardenas at the Emir's residence in Washington.
The meeting focused on reviewing bilateral ties and the means to enhance them in different fields in order to serve joint interests.
They also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments, discussing the GCC crisis and its implications on the region and its undermining of international counter-terrorism efforts. The representatives expressed their thanks to His Highness the Emir for Qatar's role in that regard, through Al Udeid Airbase.
The meeting was attended by a number of their excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying the Emir.

Emir meets members of House Armed Services Committee



His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met on Friday with the Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee Mac Thornberry and its members including Joe Wilson, Mike Conaway, Joe Courtney, Austin Scott, Jim Langevin, Jim Banks, Vicky Hartzler, Don Bacon, and Ralph Abraham at the US Congress in Washington. 
They reviewed bilateral cooperation in the defence, military, and security fields, and the means to enhance them. They also discussed the counter-terrorism efforts of the two countries.
The representatives expressed to the Emir their thanks to the State of Qatar for hosting Al Udeid Airbase, and their appreciation to the role the two countries play through the military air base in countering terrorism in the region. 
The meeting was attended by members of the official delegation accompanying the Emir. 

Emir meets members of Congressional Black Caucus



His Highness the Emir also met at his residence in Washington with members of the Congressional Black Caucus: Cedric Richmond, Hank Johnson, Sheila Jackson Lee, Al Green, Bonnie Watson Coleman, Maxine Waters, Barbara Lee, Joyce Beatty, Bennie Thompson. 
They reviewed bilateral co-operation and the ways to enhance it in different fields, thanking the Emir for Qatar's donation and assistance to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. 
They also discussed the latest developments in the Middle East, particularly the GCC crisis and the representatives' position that calls for resolving it through dialogue in a commitment to the unity of the GCC.
They expressed their appreciation to the way Qatar handled the crisis. They also expressed their appreciation to the role Qatar plays in supporting the Palestinian cause and the assistance the country provides to the people of besieged Gaza. 
They also discussed the latest global developments.

Emir meets Chernin Group CEO



His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met on Friday with the CEO of The Chernin Group, Peter Chernin, at the Emir's residence in Washington.
They reviewed bilateral co-operation and the means to enhance them.

Emir meets Executive Chairman of The Carlyle Group



His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met on Friday with co-executive chairman of The Carlyle Group and the Chairman of the Kennedy Center David Mark Rubenstein.
The meeting, at the Emir's residence in Washington, reviewed bilateral co-operation and the means to enhance it, in addition to discussing a range of issues of joint interest.
The meeting was attended by a number of their excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying the Emir.

Emir leaves Washington

His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani left Washington DC on Friday after concluding a one-week official visit to the US in which the Emir was accompanied by an official delegation and a number of businessmen.
The Emir sent a message to President of the United States Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence thanking them for the reception he and the accompanying delegation were awarded on their visit, in which they discussed a range of issues of joint interest that will contribute to enhancing strategic relations in all fields to the benefit of the two peoples.
