Huawei has stressed that it is determined to serve Qatar’s FIFA 2022 World Cup preparation through facilitating an “always connected, all-encompassing, intelligent society”.

“Huawei is committed to make this exciting, intelligent world a reality via extending the benefits of advanced artificial intelligence (AI)-based digital technology and transformation to FIFA (World Cup), in order to empower, facilitate and innovate for a truly ‘Expect Amazing’ mega event,” the company, which is set to participate in Milipol Qatar 2018, has said in a statement.
Huawei will showcase, at this year’s Milipol Qatar, how its latest AI-driven homeland security technologies and solutions will drive the public safety sector in addition to launching its smart public safety solutions in Qatar.
Huawei has been selected as a gold sponsor of Milipol Qatar, which begins in Doha Monday.
Huawei’s public safety solutions include the Video Cloud Policing Big Data Solution, an integrated AI analysis tool for public security customers. The solution enables intelligent crime investigation and prevention. It can analyse huge volumes of data to obtain valuable information on first-time visitors, frequent access statistics, movement patterns and suspicious activity. It provides a holographic profile of key personnel, background information and activity track dynamics. On a wider scale, it supports cross-regional and global information sharing.
Ahead of Milipol Qatar 2018, Fan Tao, CEO, Huawei Qatar, said: “Huawei is committed to harnessing technology to serve the needs of the Qatar government, and no need is stronger than guaranteeing the safety and wellbeing of its people. It is a great honour to be selected as a Gold Sponsor of this critical event, and we look forward to the opportunity to demonstrate how our state-of-the-art smart homeland security technologies can act as a robust pillar of support for the security of the nation of Qatar.”
Earlier this month, the Huawei Connect 2018 event in Shanghai - held under the theme of ‘Activate Intelligence’ - focused on AI, its challenges, opportunities, innovations and practices. Huawei shared how its new digital platform strategy will enable governments and enterprises to accelerate digital transformation and achieve new levels of innovation and growth.
Huawei also introduced Audi and unveiled their future plans together in the field of intelligent connected vehicles, featuring a demonstration from the new Audi Q7.
In another milestone, Huawei introduced yet another major global partnership by inviting leading technology supplier Bosch on stage at the event to outline their plans for accelerating the development of Internet of Things.
Huawei’s AI portfolio includes its new Ascend series of AI chips, the world’s first AI IP and chip series designed for a full range of scenarios. The portfolio also includes new products and cloud services that are built on Ascend chip capabilities. With its full-stack AI portfolio, Huawei aims to provide pervasive intelligence to help drive industry development and build a fully connected, intelligent world.
