Pakistani authorities arrested two suspects on Saturday in the attack on the Chinese consulate in the southern city of Karachi.

Local media quoted security sources as saying that a joint team of police and Pakistani law enforcement agencies arrested the suspects in the cities of Karachi and Shahdadpur, noting that the two suspects are being investigated in an undisclosed location, and their identities were not announced.

Many parties accuse the Balochistan Liberation Army separatist group of being behind the attack, at a time when no one has claimed responsibility for the operation so far.

On Friday, Pakistani security forces foiled an attack on the Chinese Consulate in Karachi. Three attackers, two policemen and two civilians were killed in the incident. One of the guards was seriously injured. (QNA)
