Thundershowers and strong winds are expected in the country on Thursday, the Qatar Met department has said.

Offshore areas, too, are likely to see thundery rain and windy conditions on Thursday along with high seas, according to the weather report.

Doha and other parts of the country witnessed scattered, light rain on Wednesday as well. This was in line with the Met department’s recent forecast that unsettled weather is expected in the country until Friday morning, resulting in rain.

Meanwhile, Thursday’s forecast says the wind speed may go up to 33 knots offshore and 26 knots inshore during thundershowers, with the sea level rising to 11ft.

Inshore areas will see cloudy conditions and scattered rain, which may become thundery at times. Slight dust is also likely in some places.

Cloudy conditions are also expected offshore and there is a chance of scattered rain there, too, which may turn thundery occasionally.
