The State of Qatar stressed that, despite the ongoing illegal blockade imposed on it and the continuous violation of humanitarian, legal and religious values and principles by the siege countries, it still believes that dialogue without preconditions is the best solution to the Gulf crisis.
This came in the speech of the Director of Department of International Organizations HE Yousef bin Sultan Yousef Laram in the 46th meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation of the member countries, which was held in Abu Dhabi in the UAE.
He stressed that the State of Qatar stands firmly in the face of extremism and terrorism in all its forms. He added that the country plays an active role in efforts by international and regional bodies to combat extremism and terrorism at all levels, including cooperation with international organizations and the UN. He also pointed out that the threat of terrorism is striking throughout the world in a flagrant challenge to all humanitarian laws and values.

HE Yousef Laram highlighted that the meeting was taking place in the context of major crises and increasing challenges Islamic countries facing at the political, and economic levels. These threats are because of the continued tension, increasing trends of violence and the rise in terrorism and persecution against Muslim minorities in various parts of the world.

He pointed out that these serious challenges calls on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to increase efforts to enhance cooperation among its members through unified efforts.

HE Director of Department of International Organizations said that the continuing crises in some Muslim countries without just and comprehensive solutions in sight was due to the failure of the international community on the one hand, and the double standards in dealing with such issues. He stressed that all parties involved should continue their individual and joined efforts to resolve these crises in accordance with the provisions of international law and international legitimacy.

HE Yousef Laram also stressed Qatar's firm stance to support the Palestinian people in securing all their legitimate rights, especially an independent state with 1967 borders and East Al Quds as its capital.

He also reiterated the position of the State of Qatar in support of a political solution that preserves the unity of Syria, Libya and Yemen that respects these countries' sovereignty and independence, and that meets the legitimate aspirations of their citizens.
