There are chances of light scattered rain in the country on Thursday and Friday, the Qatar Met department has said.

A post on the department’s Twitter page on Monday also informed that there is a marine warning for strong winds and thundery rain on the above-mentioned days, with the wind speed exceeding 25 knots and the sea level rising to above 7ft.

Tuesday’s forecast shows cold conditions will again prevail by night, following mild conditions during the day and some clouds.

A minimum temperature of 9C was recorded in Abu Samra and Turayna on Monday, followed by 10C in Mesaieed, Al Khor, Karana and Batna, 11C in Sheehaniya and Jumayliyah, and 12C in Wakrah, Dukhan and other places. Doha saw a minimum temperature of 16C on Monday. The maximum, on the other hand, ranged from 22C in Dukhan, Ruwais and Shehaimiya to 26C in Doha, the Qatar University area, Mesaieed and Abu Hamour.

Tuesday, the minimum temperature is expected to be 12C in Abu Samra, Wakrah, Mesaieed and Al Khor, 13C in Dukhan, 15C in Doha and 16C in Ruwais. The maximum will range from 22C in Ruwais to 26C in Doha and other places.

Meanwhile, strong winds and high seas are expected in offshore areas lying to the northeast by this afternoon, the weather office has said. The speed of northwesterly winds may go up to 25 knots, with the sea level rising to 8ft.
