University representatives and education experts from across Asia were on Thursday given an insight into Qatar Foundation’s (QF) unique model of learning, as the Asia Co-operation Dialogue (ACD) Education Workshop drew to a close.
The two-day workshop was organised by QF and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in partnership with the ACD – a pan-Asian forum that aims to strengthen the continent’s international competitiveness – and the World Innovation Summit for Education, a QF initiative.
The exercise focused on improving educational access and quality, promoting global citizenship, and building competitive workforces through collaboration at regional and continental level.
It has taken place at QF’s Education City, where delegates on Thursday met Dr Emad El-Din Shahin, dean of the College of Islamic Studies at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, a QF member; and Dr Ahmad S Dallal, dean of Georgetown University in Qatar, a QF partner university. They also visited Minaretein (Education City Mosque), Qatar National Library, and QF member Al Shaqab.
The workshop has been held under the theme ‘Learning from Neighbours; A Pan-Asian Effort to Build Contextualised Education Policies’. Qatar holds the presidency of the ACD for 2019, and is one of its founding members.
