The net satisfaction rating of Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo saw a significant 15-point hike in the first quarter of 2019, according to a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.
The SWS poll, conducted from March 28 to 31, found 63% of respondents satisfied with the performance of Robredo, while 21% were dissatisfied, yielding a “good” +42 net satisfaction rate.
The rating was 15 points up from the moderate +27 rating recorded in December 2018.
The increase, the SWS said, was due to higher satisfaction ratings in Balance Luzon or Luzon except Metro Manila (+46 in March from +20 in December), and the Visayas (+65 in March from December’s +48). Robredo’s rating was virtually the same in Mindanao (+33 in March from the +31 in December) and Metro Manila (+14 in March from December’s +16). Robredo’s satisfaction rating saw significant hikes in rural and urban areas.
More people from Class D also gave Robredo a thumbs up. The vice president credited the higher rating to her anti-poverty Angat Buhay programme.
“I feel happy…it seems that my office has been making a mark because from day one, we have been going all over the Philippines for our Angat Buhay Programme.
We reach out to the poorest of communities,” Robredo told reporters during the launching of her Ahon Laylayan Koalisyon in Cagayan de Oro City.
“The good news is, it looks like we are given a bigger inspiration and hope to be more dedicated in doing what we do,” she added.
The net satisfaction rating of Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto 3rd stayed at a “very good” +61 in March 2019, similar to the prior quarter.
Sotto’s ratings in Mindanao (+58 in March from +55 in December) and Balance Luzon (+65 in March from December’s +63) were virtually identical.
It stayed at a “very good” +60 in the Visayas.
Sotto’s rating declined by 10 points in Metro Manila, at +57 in March from December’s +67.
He, however, obtained “very good” net satisfaction ratings in all basic socio-demographics. He recorded an 11-point hike in Class ABC at +57, from +46 in December.
Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s net satisfaction rating stayed “poor” for the first quarter of 2019 at -17, from the -21 recorded in December 2018.
Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin, meanwhile, had a +14 net satisfaction rating, almost identical to his +11 rating in December 2018.
Both ratings were “moderate,” according to SWS standards.
The small rise in Bersamin’s rating was due to increases of eight points in Balance Luzon (+25 in March from December’s +17), seven points in Mindanao (+10 in March from December’s +3) and four points in the Visayas (+16 in March from December’s +12.)
But Bersamin’s rating fell by a massive 20 points in Metro Manila, to -11 from +9 in December.
The SWS survey was fielded among 1,440 Filipinos aged 18 years and above.
It had sampling error margins of + or -2.6% for national percentages and + or -5% each for Balance Luzon, Metro Manila, Visayas and Mindanao.
