Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has announced the opening hours of its three dedicated cancer screening facilities and call centre during the holy month of Ramadan for Qatari citizens and residents.

Both Al Wakra and Rawdat Al Khail Health Centres will operate from Sunday to Thursday from 8am to 1pm while Leabaib Health Centre will be open from Sunday to Thursday from 8am to 1pm and 7pm to midnight.

The call centre will operate from Sunday to Thursday between 8am and 2pm and on Saturday from 9am to 2pm for any assistance and booking appointments. All three clinics will be open for bowel cancer screening and Leabaib and Rawdat Al Khail will be open for breast in addition to bowel cancer screening.

Dr Shaikha Abou Shaikha, manager of screening programmes at PHCC, said, “The holy month of Ramadan is one of the blessed months where people indulge in religious activities and pray for peace and prosperity to all. Taking due cognizance of the same, we at PHCC have revised our screening suites’ opening and closing hours, which is aimed at offering ease to our Qatari citizens and residents. They can make prior appointment before visiting any of the suites to avoid long waiting time for the check-ups and enjoy Ramadan rituals with their family and friends.”

Screen for Life is a programme by PHCC, aiming to educate and raise awareness on the importance of early detection of breast and bowel cancer in Qatar. The Screen for Life team intends to remind both men and women that it is easy to get screened at the PHCC screening centres and should do it even when there are no signs of symptoms.
