His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani took part in the opening session of the fifth summit of Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) held in Navruz Palace in Dushanbe Saturday.
The summit was attended by heads of states, governments and delegations. The Amir was accompanied by an official delegation.
The Amir left Dushanbe Saturday afternoon for Doha after participating in the summit.
Upon departure, the Amir and the accompanying delegation were seen off at Dushanbe international airport by Tajikistan Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda, First Deputy Foreign Minister Khusrav Noziri, Qatar's ambassador Ibrahim bin Mohamed al-Abdullah, deputy ambassador of Tajikistan to Qatar Akram Karimov and Qatari embassy staff.
The Amir sent a cable to Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon, expressing his sincere thanks and appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality accorded to him and the accompanying delegation in Dushanbe. The Amir also praised the efforts exerted by the president to achieve the success of the conference and its objectives, which will contribute to enhancing the constructive cooperation among the member states and the establishment of peace, security and stability in Asia. He also wished the president good health and happiness and the brotherly people of Tajikistan further progress and prosperity.
