The Bedaya Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Centre), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, has honoured students in the 16 to 24 age group for their participation in the 2019 edition of the annual ‘Summer Camp’. 
The event took place during the closing ceremony held at the Wyndham Doha West Bay Hotel where 120 participants from different age groups were recognised. During the ceremony, the best 10 projects submitted during the summer camp were selected, and the jury selected the top three ideas.
‘QParts’, a project submitted by Ibrahim Ahmed and Shehab Mohamed was named the winner. The project aims to evolve and develop automotive service centres with the objective to facilitate the search for spare parts and provide a better-quality service.
The second position was bagged by Sheikha al-Muhanadi and Loulwa al-Jassem for their project ‘The Universe’, which aims to increase awareness in astronomy and galaxies through educational workshops, with future objective to create an integrated entertainment city related to astronomy.
‘Easyshop’, which took third place, was submitted by Mosaab Abdel Rahman and Moataman Jamal and aims to facilitate e-procurement for students who do not have bank cards and want to buy in cash.
The three winners will receive further support from Bedaya Centre and will be showcased in all events and bazaars that will be held by Bedaya Centre. In addition, Bedaya Centre will promote the projects free of charge. Moreover, the winners also walked away with free cruise trips provided by Venice Yachts.
Bedaya Centre general manager Reem al-Sowaidi, “We are pleased to see a significant growth in the number of participants in the Bedaya Centre annual summer camp, which is increasing in popularity year after year. Our aim is to instil the spirit of leadership in our youth, who are the foundation of the future.”
“The summer camp provided an opportunity for all participants to engage face to face with a group of successful entrepreneurs who have excelled in their own projects or brands. The participants also took part in many activities, events, and leisure trips that enriched their experience during the period of the camp,” she added.
