Qatar University (QU) has maintained its position among the top 500 universities in the world in the recent Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2020.  The results showed that QU was ranked in the range of 401-500.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020 includes almost 1,400 universities across 92 countries, standing as the largest and most diverse university rankings ever to date.
The table is based on 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators that measure an institution’s performance across teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
This achievement “consolidates QU’s recent results in rankings as the institution moved from 332 in the QS World University Ranking in 2019 to 276 in the 2020 ranking, effectively jumping 56 places, and becoming one of the most improved universities”, the university has said in a press statement.
“The Times Higher Education ranking is a great achievement for QU and is a testament to the efforts QU has undertaken to gain international recognition.
The university stands today as a beacon of academic and research excellence, and embraces a student body of around 20,000 female and male students enrolled in its various academic programmes,” the statement adds.
