Qatar Airways, the country's national carrier, is the launch customer for Gulfstream Aerospace's newly introduced G700 series with it placing order for as many as 10 large business jets to be used for its charter service ‘Qatar Executive’. "We are excited to be the launch customer of the G700, the largest business jet in the industry, and are looking forward to the aircraft joining our fleet,” Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive HE Akbar al-Baker said.

Gulfstream introduced the G700 on Tuesday as the industry’s new flagship. It boasts business aviation’s largest cabin and can fly farther, faster than any other competitor in the business-jet industry. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines, the G700 can fly 7,500 nautical miles/13,890km at Mach 0.85 or 6,400 nm/11,853km at Mach 0.90. It features the Gulfstream 'symmetry flight deck' with active control side-sticks and the most extensive use of touchscreen technology in the industry.

The G700 cabin is also unparalleled, offering an extra-large ultra-galley with lounge or crew compartment, up to five living areas and a large, bespoke master bedroom with en suite master bath. The aircraft also features an all-new, Gulfstream-developed revolutionary lighting system that truly mimics circadian rhythms.

Along with 20 panoramic windows and the Gulfstream cabin environment of 100% fresh air, low cabin altitude and whisper-quiet sound levels, the G700 promotes in-flight wellness and greatly reduces the physical impact of travelling halfway around the world nonstop. Qatar Executive’s latest agreement with Gulfstream is for the purchase of 10 G700 aircraft in addition to their recently announced orders of additional all-new Gulfstream G500 and high-performing G650ER aircraft.

As many as 11 Gulfstream aircraft are currently in service with Qatar Executive, including six G650ERs and five G500s. The executive charter service is the world’s largest commercial operator of the G650ER and the first commercial charter operator of the G500.

"We are grateful they have chosen to continue growing their Gulfstream fleet with our new flagship G700 and look forward to their customers travelling in the utmost comfort on the largest business jet in the industry,” according to Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream.
