The Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) and IFP Qatar are joining hands once again to bring back a knowledge-exchange and training platform for professionals in the tourism industry on the sidelines of the annual Hospitality Qatar exhibition, to be held from November 12 to 14 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Thanks to the partnership, Hospitality Qatar will provide - for the first time - a free-of-charge certified training programme delivered by international experts, a press statement notes. The programme will cover essential topics preparing industry practitioners for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The training will take place during the second Hospitality Qatar conference, which will explore the opportunities shaping the tourism sector in the lead up to the World Cup in 2022, with a focus on family entertainment and technology-based developments.
Ahmed AlObaidli of QNTC said, “QNTC is committed to working with our partners in the business events sector to ensure exhibitions and conferences allow participants to experience the full breadth of what Qatar has to offer while contributing to their professional development.
“We are excited to work with IFP Qatar once again to curate a new programme that allows members of the Qatari tourism industry to explore with international experts how we can deliver authentic, unforgettable tourism experiences.”
Courtesy of QNTC, this year’s programme includes fan experience expert and former executive in Atletico Madrid and Disney, Javier Martinez, who will deliver the training ‘Attraction Theme Park Experience – Enhancing Visitor Experience’.
Attendees will learn how to develop business models for new products or services at existing or future attractions. They will also learn how to enhance the visitor experience, while also managing marketing, finances, personnel planning, hospitality, and safety within entertainment and theme parks. The training will take place on November 12 at 6pm.
Meanwhile, professionals in the events industry who are interested in increasing customer satisfaction can attend the training by Hamish Taylor, expert in leadership, customer service, innovation and branding, titled ‘Customer Service: Managing People in Big Events’.
The training, which takes place on November 14 at 2pm, will help attendees identify ways to make their customer service memorable and trustworthy, creating loyalty in their brand.
Haidar Mshaimesh, acting general manager of IFP, said: “This year’s edition has significantly expanded the events scope from Horeca to tourism, with the launch of our first Destination Pavilion and Luxury Tourism Zone.
“Thanks to our partnership with QNTC, we are table to take more steps towards making Hospitality Qatar a one-stop event for all kinds of tourism professionals, whether they are looking for partnerships, products or professional development.”
Now in its fifth edition, Hospitality Qatar is Qatar’s premier international hospitality and Horeca trade show. The exhibition will connect hotel operators, Horeca suppliers, investors and industry professionals from around the region.
