His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met at the Amiri Diwan Wednesday with HE the Shura Council Speaker, Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud, and the council members.
The meeting was attended by His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani.
At the outset of the meeting, the Shura Council Speaker thanked the Amir for meeting them, just days after His Highness inaugurated the 48th ordinary session of the Shura Council, while stressing the implementation of the directives which the Amir gave in his speech in co-operation with the government.
For his part, His Highness the Amir welcomed the Speaker and members, noting the efforts exerted by the council in enriching the national work in the legislative field and following up the progress of the government work, and its notable presence in international forums, stressing the importance of preparing for the upcoming Shura Council elections. The Amir expressed his hope that the elections will enhance the council's role in the future.
