Ooredoo has announced that it is the Strategic Sponsor for Ajyal Film Festival 2019 and will also again present the ‘Made in Qatar’ programme at the festival.
The Ajyal Film Festival – organised by Doha Film Institute and designed to bring Qatari citizens and residents and their communities together through screenings and film-related events – is being held from today until November 23 at Katara – the Cultural Village.
The ‘Made In Qatar’ programme, presented by Ooredoo, has been designed to give visibility to talented young filmmakers in the growing cinema industry in Qatar, showcasing their work and offering them exposure on the regional and international stage. Screenings and events at the Festival are intended to provoke creative interaction, stimulate cinematic dialogue and inspire communities to take an active interest in the film industry, as well as showcase the best talents from Qatar and further afield.
Speaking of the sponsorship, Manar Khalifa al-Muraikhi,director of PR and Corporate Communications at Ooredoo, said: “Supporting our local communities is a key focus for Ooredoo as part of our corporate social responsibility strategy, as is supporting arts and culture and promoting events that encourage our young people to get involved.
“For us, Ajyal Film Festival ticks many boxes; it encourages our communities to come together, it inspires our young people to take an interest in the film industry, and it promotes local talent; all hugely important for the ongoing development of Qatar.
“We’re delighted to be working with Doha Film Institute again and look forward to another successful event this year.”
