The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has signed a memorandum of understanding ( MoU) with Public Health England (PHE) on the sideline of the first Qatar Public Health Conference that concluded on Tuesday.

The MoU, which aims at boosting bilateral relations in the field of public health services and facilitating communication between the concerned authorities in both countries on all public health issues, was signed by MoPH director of Public Health Department Sheikh Dr Mohamed bin Hamad al-Thani and M Duncan Salbie and PHE deputy director Dr Jenifer Smith.

Sheikh Mohamed said, “This MoU helps bolster cooperation in public health fields between Qatar and England and comes in line with MoPH’s keenness to establish distinguished partnerships in health fields to create new prospects of cooperation that leads to ongoing enhancement of technical and scientific aspects of public health services.

Dr Smith highlighted the benefits for both sides by enhancing cooperation in the fields of public health, especially in priority areas in an ongoing and efficient manner.

The MoU contributes to furthering the existing cooperation between the two countries in exchanging expertise, academic activities, scientific research as well as treatment abroad.
