The embassy of Moldova in Doha and Elite Paper Recycling are partnering to promote environmental sustainability and recycling across all their programmes and activities under the Green Embassies programme in Qatar, it has been announced.
Mihai Clapaniuc, chargé d’affaires at the Moldovan embassy, and Abdulla Ibrahim al-Suwaidi, chairman of Elite Paper Recycling, co-signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in this regard on Sunday.
The signing took place at the embassy.
The initiative aims to promote sustainability and protect the environment by reducing paper waste through recycling and running campaigns to educate people about reducing wastage, a press statement notes.
On the occasion, al-Suwaidi said: “We are happy to be here today to sign the MoU with the embassy of Moldova. We are keen to have joint efforts in environmental sustainability and recycling under the Green Embassies in Qatar programme, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, as well as to hold awareness campaign and events together to educate the community.
“The green initiative is about recycling to reduce and reuse the paper products that we make. Elite Paper Recycling is committed to deploy bins at the embassy and regularly collect all wastepaper and cardboards, which are destined for recycling, as part of the efforts made to raise public awareness about the environment and sustainability, towards having a better community future in Qatar.”
