The Gulf Publishing & Printing Company (GPPC) Press has been awarded ISO certifications in Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015), Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (ISO 45001:2018), and the Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001:2015).
Guardian Independent Certification, London, England, conducted the respective audits and awarded the certifications.
"The GPPC Press has become an integral part of the print and packaging industry in Qatar," stated manager, engineer Abdulnasser al-Zaghl. GPPC has introduced the most sophisticated machines and technology in the field while maintaining the highest quality and ensuring environment-friendly processes and products.
The GPPC Press prints the company's two dailies Gulf Times and Arrayah in addition to offering extensive commercial printing services covering various books, magazines and other publications that serve the needs of the local market.
It was seven years ago, that the GPPC forayed into the packaging print industry, followed by the paper products industry three years ago. These required a stringent and high quality management system in place, especially for the materials used in food packaging.
Al-Zaghl stressed that GPPC has now become a key contributor and main partner in the packaging industry in the Qatari market. He pointed out that all the necessary measures and upgrades were taken to develop the products, the management and the production tools to attain the highest possible international levels of quality and environmental safety standards.
Accordingly, work towards ISO certification in these fields was initiated, which also involved attaining the best results of customer satisfaction about the company's products and services.
Engineer Ezzaldin Musa, quality controller at GPPC press, said that the company employs an effective management mechanism to achieve customer satisfaction and professionally fulfilling their demands.
This is done through full co-operation among the various departments of the press and a strict system of control and follow-up with special focus on the use of environment friendly materials and practices in the industry, he added.
