Qatar Primary Materials Company (QPMC) will be supporting the ‘Made in Qatar 2020’ slated from February 19 to 22 in Kuwait as ‘Golden Sponsor’.
The expo will be organised by Qatar Chamber, in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Qatar Development Bank (QDB) as strategic partner, and in coordination with the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce & Industry on a 10,000sq m area at the Kuwait International Fair.
Qatar Chamber director general Saleh bin Hamad al-Sharqi and QPMC CEO Essa Mohamed Ali Kaldari signed the sponsorship agreement at the chamber’s headquarters in Doha.
Commenting of the signing ceremony, Kaldari said: “QPMC is pleased to sponsor and take part in the eighth edition of the ‘Made in Qatar’ exhibition, which will be held outside the country for the third time. The expo plays a key role in promoting locally-made products, and fostering the role of industry in the national economy.”
“The exhibition provides a brilliant opportunity for the company to inform Kuwaiti businessmen and the business community and Kuwaiti on our activities, strategic products and future plans for expansion, and review enhancing cooperation with Kuwaiti companies in the provision of various primary materials” Kaldari noted, adding that the company has successfully managed to fulfill the needs of the local market on primary and raw materials.
Al-Sharqi said QPMC’s continued support for the expo and the key role it plays in fulfilling the demands of the Qatari market, such as building materials required for the mega projects being implemented in Qatar to develop its infrastructure and for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
He said organising the expo for the third time outside the country affirms that Qatar’s industry sector has achieved significant development. He stressed that Qatari factories and manufacturing companies are eager to display their products in the Kuwaiti market to open new export destinations.
The four-day expo aims at fostering cooperation and exchanging expertise between Qatari and Kuwaiti companies, in addition to identifying Kuwaiti business community on Qatari products and opening new markets to Qatari companies in its various large and small industries. The exhibition is also expected to gather more than 220 companies and factories from Qatar.
