*A joint committee for the removal and disposal of abandoned vehicles, machinery and equipment also to be formed

The Cabinet has approved its draft decision on the establishment of a permanent committee concerned with food safety in the country.
This came during the Cabinet's regular meeting Wednesday, the official Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
According to the provisions of the draft, the 'Standing Committee for Human Food Safety' will be established at the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH). It will be headed by a representative of the MoPH and have, as members, representatives from the relevant authorities.
The committee will have several specialisations, including proposing strategies, policies and procedures for food safety in Qatar, as well as proposing mechanisms to deal with food safety risks at the national level, the report states.
After HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting at the Amiri Diwan Wednesday , HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Issa bin Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi issued a statement giving details of the meeting.
During the meeting, the Cabinet approved a draft decision of HE the Minister of Municipality and Environment to establish a joint committee for the removal and disposal of abandoned vehicles, machinery and equipment.
According to the draft, the joint committee for the removal and disposal of abandoned vehicles, machinery and equipment will be established at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment. It will include representatives of the authorities concerned and shall be concerned with taking the necessary measures towards removing neglected vehicles, machinery and equipment from squares, roads, streets, corridors, alleys, sidewalks and public parking areas in co-ordination with the competent authorities, QNA said.
The Cabinet Wednesday also gave its nod to a draft decision of HE the Minister of Interior to form a committee to implement the rulings issued for the disposal of narcotic drugs and dangerous psychotropic substances legally ordered to be confiscated, the report noted.
The decision comes as part of implementation of the provisions of Law No. 9 of 1987 on combating dangerous drugs and psychotropic substances and regulating their use and trade.
According to the provisions of the draft, a committee will be set up to implement the rulings issued for the disposal of seized narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, or judicially ordered to seize and destroy, headed by the director of the Verdict Execution Department at the Ministry of Interior and with the membership of representatives from the competent authorities.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet approved its draft decision to reorganise the Compensation Claims Committee at the Ministry of Finance.
The draft decision provides for the reorganisation of the said committee, which is formed under the chairmanship of the undersecretary at the Ministry of Finance and with the membership of representatives from the authorities concerned.
It is concerned with receiving and studying compensation requests submitted to ministries, government agencies and public bodies and institutions, in particular, requests for compensation arising from contracting and supply contracts, and related compensation requests for delay in the implementation of obligations or completion of original or additional works, change orders or amendments that have been made to those contracts, the report adds.
Also, the Cabinet took the necessary measures to issue a draft law on the diplomatic and consular corps after it reviewed the recommendations of the Shura Council in this regard.
