Katara - the Cultural Village Foundation has announced that all its activities will be suspended for two weeks starting Sunday (March 15).

In a notification on social media on Saturday, Katara also said all exhibition galleries, restaurants and Katara Club and the beach would be suspended for the same period from Sunday.

The decision is in line with the government’s preventive and health policy and is aimed at preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), according to Katara.

Meanwhile, Katara also announced that it has exempted all investors, including owners of restaurants and cafes operating at the Cultural Village, from rent and other fees such as those pertaining to electricity and water.

This comes into effect on Sunday and will remain in place until further notice, Katara said on Twitter.

In another announcement, Katara said the remote work will system will be applied from Sunday, for a period of two weeks, to ensure the safety of its employees.
