US President Donald Trump has confirmed that the deadline set for ByteDance, a Chinese tech company, to sell its assets of TikTok, a video-sharing platform, in the United States will not be extended.

"We'll see what happens. It'll either be closed up or they'll sell it," Trump said. He added, "No extension of the TikTok deadline."

On Aug. 14, Trump signed a decree requiring ByteDance to give up its assets of TikTok in the US within 90 days, which prompted those in charge of the application to file on Aug. 24 a lawsuit against the US government.

TikTok entered into serious negotiations to sell its business in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand with Microsoft, Oracle, and other investors, but no agreement has yet been reached with any party.
