Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced partial traffic closures on the University Street, and Abdul Aziz Bin Jassim Street and starting from the 14 October 2020.
The left lanes will be temporarily closed in both directions on University Street for a distance of 650m between Omar Al Mukhtar intersection to Al Khafji intersection and 200m between Lejbailat intersection to Omar Al Mukhtar intersection. In addition, the left lanes will be temporarily closed for 400m from Lejbailat intersection to TV intersection on Abdul Aziz Bin Jassim Street.
These traffic diversions will be in place for approximately 8 months. The closure in co-ordination with General Directorate of Traffic is to allow excavation works for the development of sewage and storm water drainage networks in the area. During the closure, the two lanes on the streets will remain open to traffic in each direction.
Ashghal will install road signs advising motorists of the closure and requests all to follow them and abide by the speed limits to ensure safety.
