His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani held Friday a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to express condolences on the victims of an earthquake that hit Izmir province in western Turkey, wishing the injured a speedy recovery. The Amir expressed Qatar's readiness to help alleviate the impacts of the disaster.
In a tweet, His Highness the Amir said: "I have expressed to my brother the President of Turkey through my call this morning, my sincerest condolences and sympathy along with that of the Qatari people to him and the brotherly Turkish people, for the victims of Izmir earthquake, in addition to our support and solidarity with them in this painful crisis. We sincerely wish the injured speedy recovery."

Meanwhile, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani held a phone call Friday evening with Turkey's Minister of Interior Suleyman Soylu, in which he expressed his condolences on the victims of the earthquake, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
