HE the Minister of Municipality and Environment Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaie participated on Tuesday in the 23rd meeting of ministers responsible for municipal affairs in the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC), which was held via video conference technology.

The meeting dealt with a number of topics on the agenda, which included the Supreme Council's decision on the strategy of joint Gulf municipal action, the Ministerial Council's decision on strategic urban planning, the implications of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, the municipal efforts and future plans to confront the pandemic crisis in the GCC countries, and the municipal work co-operation council award.

The meeting's agenda also included developing legislation and municipal oversight mechanisms, municipal work conferences, municipal information bases, workshops and specialised training programmes in the field of municipal work and the urban environment, highlighting Gulf municipal work in regional and international forums, exchanging experiences, expertise and information, and the proposal of the General Secretariat.
