While announcing the start of the implementation of the Industrial Area Street 33 Upgrade Project, engineer Nooh al-Joof from the Highway Projects Department has said that Ashghal will rely upon locally-manufactured materials for about 80% of the requirement.
Locally-made poles, lighting poles, directional signs, sewage pipes, rainwater drainage, asphalt, and prefabricated manholes in addition to concrete and steel will be used for the project.
This is in line with Ashghal’s decision to support local manufacturers and the Ta’heel initiative launched in 2017.
Engineer Bader Darwish, assistant manager of Highway Projects Department, said that Ashghal continues to work on providing an integrated road network that lives up to Qatar National Vision 2030.
He said that the Industrial Area is among the priorities of Ashghal due to its strategic importance.
Engineer Nasser Dalmouk, also from the Highway Projects Department, said that the development of Street 33 will improve traffic movement to and from the Industrial Area.
