The families of the healthcare sector and the participating bodies only will be allowed to witness National Day Parade in Doha Cornice on Friday, 18/12/2020 morning through special invitations, in compliance with the exceptional precautionary and preventive measures to ensure health and safety of all members of society.

Citizens and residents can watch the National Day Parade and the festive moments through television channels, Brig. Dr. Ali Khujaim Al-Adbi, director of Establishments and Authorities Security Department and Head of the Security Committee said in a press conference.

The head of the security committee stressed that entry will be for invitees only, as one permit for one person. The invitees have to reach in the parade venue before 7 am and undergo measurement of body temperature and also show the Ehteraz application in green status at entry points and have to adhere to precautionary and health measures such as wearing face masks, maintaining physical distancing  and must stay in their seats and not to move from the seat until the end of the ceremony.

The guidelines include avoiding smoking in the stands, chanting, or using live choirs and singing, and should adhere to the designated paths to the parking spaces as specified in the invitation cards.

For securing the National Day celebration activities, the security barricades will be placed from Council of Ministers covering the entire Doha Corniche until the Sheraton Hotel intersection and then towards the direction of Al Fardan Tower and then to Al Barzan Tower, from there to the Theater intersection, then to the Wadi Al-Sail Fire Station intersection, after which it heads to the Al-Mannai underpass, then to the Souq Waqif signal, to the Amiri Diwan intersection in the direction of (Fanar), then to Qatar National Bank signals and to the General Secretariat again.

The waterfront from the Corniche will be completely closed and the public will not be allowed to enter it. Entry is only permitted for those authorized through invitations to attend, as each invitee is given a card for car parking and seat in the parade gallery. The invitation card includes a barcode that determines the direction of the car’s path directly to the underground car parking of the Al Bida park . The Qatar Red Crescent teams will be present at the gates entrances to ensure the compliance of the attendees with health requirements.

Brigadier Dr. Ali Al-Athbi added that the Metro stations will be opened from 2pm after the activities are over and the fireworks will be on the Doha Corniche at 8:30 pm.

He called on the public to follow health requirements and precautionary measures.
