Qatar Chamber chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, and His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani.
Sheikh Khalifa said, “Qatar National Day is a glorious national occasion for our hearts and a day of pride and dignity for all of us. It is an opportunity to confirm our belongingness and loyalty to the State of Qatar and its wise leadership, and our confidence in the state’s ability to overcome all challenges to face.”

He said Qatar succeeded in overcoming the impact of the 2017 economic blockade and the Covid-19 crisis, “thanks to Qatar’s sound policies and strategies.”
“Qatar preserved the principles and noble values established by the founder, assuring that only our belief in these values and our solidarity with the wise leadership enabled the country to move steadfast against crises and challenges.
“Qatar’s adoption of these values and principles has placed it in a leading global position, emerging as a model example of the values of respect, justice, peace, co-operation, and support for the oppressed and needy, and other noble values,” Sheikh Khalifa stressed.
Qatar Chamber board member Dr Khalid bin Klefeekh al-Hajri said, “National Day is a precious occasion for us to underscore the accomplishments made by the State in all fields, including economics, politics, and other fields. It is also an opportunity to express our loyalty to this generous homeland and rally behind the wise leadership.
“The Qatari economy has made great strides within the past few years and has become one of the world’s fasting growing economies due to the visionary policy under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir,” he said.
Al-Hajri said Qatar not only managed to overcome the blockade but was also able to “transform its impacts into benefits.”
“The siege was an impetus for Qatari businesses to expand their investments in the industry sector and increase productivity in a way that supports the local market and decrease import from abroad,” al-Hajri said.
Al-Sharqi said, “Celebrating National Day offers an opportunity for us to renew our allegiance to the wise leadership and instil belongingness to our beloved homeland.”
He said the chamber accomplished many achievements in 2020 and improved its services to members, and continued its role in enhancing the performance of the private sector and increase its contribution in the national economy and attract more foreign investments to Qatar.
Al-Sharqi also forecasts a “quantum leap” for the chamber in the coming years in terms of the development and digitisation of operational mechanisms, which would contribute to streamlining transactions and less use of paper.
