Trees have been planted at Al Ebb Park in continuation of the ‘Qatar Beautification and our Kids Planting Trees’ campaign.
According to a tweet by the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) Saturday, the Supervisory Committee of the Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar, along with residents of the Al Ebb area, planted trees at the park with the participation of 26 children.

The ‘Qatar Beautification and our Kids Planting Trees’ campaign to plant 1mn trees is being held in co-ordination with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME).
While attending the event, Rashid Saeed al-Nuaimi, director of Al Rayyan Municipality and a resident of Al Ebb, said: "We thank those in charge of establishing parks and afforestation around Qatar, which have a great benefit in providing a healthy outlet for families, preserving the environment and improving the quality of life."
Meshaal Abdulla al-Nuaimi, Central Municipal Council member from Constituency 18, said: “The 3,000sqm Al Ebb Park will greatly benefit people in the area as it includes a walkway and other facilities. I thank the team members of this campaign for their efforts in protecting the environment.”
Abdulla bin Saeed al-Nuaimi, a resident of Al Ebb, added: "It is nice to see the area’s residents planting trees, beautifying the area and protecting it through this campaign. I also thank those in charge of Al Ebb Park as the area needed a park that allows families to exercise, play and walk."
The campaign was launched in September 2019 and it aims to afforest various areas, continuing until the end of 2021. According to information from Ashghal, the campaign has so far covered various localities within Doha along with areas belonging to Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality. Also, campaigns have been held so far in Al Sheehaniya, Al Rayyan, Al Nasraniyya and Al Wakra.
The Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar is implementing the 'Qatar Beautification and Our Kids Planting Trees' campaign, which will continue until the end of 2021. The committee works under the MME, in co-ordination with several ministries and other entities such as the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Ministry of Culture and Sports, Qatar Museums, Qatar Rail, Private Engineering Office and others.
The committee is responsible for major tasks such as the construction of central public parks, provision of dedicated lanes for pedestrians and bicycles, development of the Doha Corniche and Central Doha and increasing afforestation and green areas.
The committee’s work will enhance sustainability through minimising environmental pollution and reducing the emission of CO2 through reduced consumption of energy resources.
It also focuses on the provision of more public transport options aiming at reduced use of private cars and improving lifestyle through clean and safe transportation.
It is also intended to ensure a healthy environment within residential neighbourhoods and places of public gatherings through increased afforestation and landscaping, which will greatly help in reducing the temperature in cities.
