HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani chaired Wednesday the cabinet's regular meeting held at its seat at the Amiri Diwan. Following the meeting, HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Issa Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi issued the following statement:
At the beginning of the meeting, the Cabinet listened to the explanation provided by HE the Minister of Public Health on the latest developments to limit the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19), and the council affirmed the continuation of work with regard to the precautionary measures that have been taken in order to combat this pandemic.
After that, the Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows:
First-approval of:
1- A draft decision of the Minister of Interior to amend the set of terms and preventive measures for safety and security of Law no. 25 of 2015 regarding civil defence.
2- A draft decision of the Minister of Public Health to amend some of the terms attached to Law no. 9 of 1987 on control and regulation of control and regulation of narcotic drugs and dangerous psychotropic substances, and Law no. 19 of 1993 regarding the regulation of trading in psychoactive substances.
Second-approval of Ministry of Transport and Communications to join the Global Privacy Assembly, as an observer member.
Third-The Cabinet reviewed the semi-annual report of the work of the Committee for the regulation of ownership and use of non-Qatari property during the period between April and October of 2020.
Established by the Ministry of Justice, this Committee specialises in several terms of reference, including proposing areas in which non-Qataris are allowed to own and use real estate, as well as proposing conditions and regulations for non-Qataris' ownership and use of real estate.
