The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has urged people to strictly comply with the Covid-19 precautionary and preventive measures while going to mosques.
In a post on Twitter Sunday, the ministry reminded the public that their "co-operation and adherence to precautionary measures is the best way to prevent the spread of the virus".
The advisory comes as the country is witnessing a spike in Covid-19 cases and the health authorities asking people to exercise due caution now in order to avoid a second wave of the virus.
In an accompanying infographic, the minister advised people to perform ablution at home, display the Ehteraz app status while entering a mosque and avoid shaking hands even if they wearing gloves.
Further, the ministry advises people to bring their own prayer mats and put them on the designated spots. Also, people should wear masks all the time inside the mosque and bring their own Holy Qur'an, or use their mobile phone to recite the Holy Qur'an, the ministry adds.
