From February, consumers will have to pay a sanitation fee that will be equivalent to 20% of the value of the monthly Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) water bill.
It was announced last month that the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), in co-operation with Kahramaa, would charge a sanitation fee beginning with the consumption bill for January.
Service fees for the homes of Qatari citizens are subject to the exemption rules followed by Kahramaa.
As for non-Qatari residents and establishments of any kind, service fees will be calculated at 20% of the value of the monthly water bill issued by Kahramaa.
