* Nojoom members encouraged to donate points to QCS

Ooredoo has announced a new initiative in conjunction with Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) in honour of World Cancer Day 2021. To help QCS "continue its invaluable work with cancer patients and their families, as well as its work within the wider community", the telco leader is encouraging members of its loyalty programme, Nojoom, to donate their points to the Society.
QCS actively seeks to raise awareness of the disease, educate communities and promote early detection. Its campaign for World Cancer Day 2021 is ‘I am, I will’, recognising that each individual’s commitment to act will lead to powerful progress in reducing the global impact of cancer, and that actions – whether big or small – will lead to lasting, positive change.
To encourage as many Nojoom members to donate their points as possible, Ooredoo has set a target of 2mn Nojoom Points, according to a press statement by the company. Members can donate via the Ooredoo App or Ooredoo website, and will be able to keep track of progress towards the target via the dedicated Donation Meter page.
Sabah Rabiah al-Kuwari, director of PR at Ooredoo, said: “We have a longstanding partnership with Qatar Cancer Society and we’re delighted to be working with them on this charitable initiative. Their work in the community is invaluable, and we’re honoured to be able to support them in any way we can.
"We’d encourage our members to donate their points wherever possible; I have every faith we’ll meet our ambitious target, and we’d like to thank our members in advance for their generosity.”
