The Qatar Digital Government Programme (QDGTP) by the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) has benefited more than 3,000 government employees through information technology training.

MoTC tweeted that the programme continues to provide specialised training to help the employees and government agencies enhance their capabilities and prepare a class of national technological cadres and leaders.

Various courses are conducted as part of the ministry’s efforts to build capacity for ICT professionals in the government sector.

QDGTP was launched in order to make Qatar’s government more efficient, effective, accessible and customer-centric. It is designed to better serve individuals and businesses, create efficiency in government administration with enhanced participation of citizens and residents.

The benefits that the programme brings to the community includes supporting the digital transformation of government through building the capability of ICT professionals and creating a new generation of e-government ICT professionals across Qatar. It’s also aimed at training at least 1,000 ICT professionals in the government sector every year and creating strategic partnerships with IT providers.

With a total of 119 training courses, the programme, according to details available on MoTC website, has a total of 228 certifications.
