The Quarantine Cell, which is headed by the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and involves the participation of several other authorities and institutions in the country, is making laudable efforts that are no less important than the rest of the sectors on the frontlines of the efforts to confront the Covid-19 pandemic.

This was stressed through a series of posts on the Twitter page of the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) on Saturday.

The cell works 24 hours to co-ordinate and organise the quarantine process for all travellers coming to Qatar, issue temporary travel permits and supervise quarantine and isolation procedures, according to one of the tweets.

It receives complaints, observations and enquiries regarding quarantine through the number, 44579999, and plays an extremely important role in preventing the spread of the virus.

The Quarantine Cell is led by Colonel Hassan Mohamed al-Kuwari, director of the Central Operations Department at the Ministry of Interior. It also includes representatives from the MoPH, Hamad Medical Corporation, MoI, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, Qatar Tourism, Ministry of Transport and Communications, Qatar Airways and Discover Qatar.
