Sidra Medicine and the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under which the latter will provide financial assistance covering the treatment, medications and medical supplies of patients in need.
The signatories were Sidra Medicine CEO Dr Barbro Fridén and QRCS chief executive director Ibrahim Abdulla al-Maliki.
Dr Fridén, said, “Every child deserves the opportunity to grow up healthy and realise their full potential and this is especially the case for children who are fighting complex health conditions. Our hospital, which provides specialist paediatric services is committed to providing the best possible care for the children of Qatar and beyond. Our partnerships with charitable groups like the Qatar Red Crescent Society are a step in the right direction to help improve the lives of young patients in need and to give them an opportunity to have access to the right care at the right time.”
Al-Maliki, added, “Qatar Red Crescent Society’s MoU with Sidra Medicine is an ambitious step towards realising the joint social and humanitarian goals embodied by the Qatar National Vision 2030. It is also a continuation of our ongoing partnership with the hospital.
"QRCS has extensive experience in the field of humanitarian and community engagement. We have been actively supporting the treatment of needy children, whose families cannot afford the cost of treatment and we hope that our contribution will have a positive impact by giving them access to the best paediatric healthcare services.”
